Meeting the client brief task 9

I have exported my front cover and double paged spread into a JPEG this it to shrink the file to help manage my documents more efficiently and save storage space on my device. I also exported it into a JPEG as it ensure that there is no pixels and my magazine remains at a high quality and appealing to look at.

Front cover Tools

Tool 1 - utilising the layer style tool in Photoshop for my magazine front cover this allows my front cover to have visual enhancement so it appealing to my target audience. Each tool holds significance for example the tool I used is the stroke tool this emphasises boldness and confidence which is extremely important as I intended to have this cover line stand out so that my audience are attracted to look further into the streaming website. The choice to add an outline and shadow combines to make my magazine captivating for my audience. I used the layer style tool to enhance the presentation of the assets used on my magazine front cover.

Tool 2
Utilising the text tool in Photoshop for my magazine front cover this allows for appealing visuals for my target audience. The text tool allow me to use any front that I desire in order to make it link to my theme of romance. My chosen font was downloaded from an exterior website Da Font which I then used as my masthead. The text tool allowed me to choose the size of my font as well this makes my text stand out and will catch the eye of my audience. To further this idea, I decided to to use the bold tool within the text this is to again enhance the visualisation of the masthead.

Tool 3
Utilising the eclipse tool in photoshop for my magazine front cover allows for captivating visuals for my target audience. The eclipse tool allows my cover line to stand out more compared to the other ones so it catches the eyes of the readers. This is important as this cover line is my main article in my magazine and the eclipse tool helps the cover line to differ from the other cover lines. The eclipse tool also allows me to fill it in with a colour, this links directly to the genre of my magazine as I have decided to fill it in with a light pink which has connotations of love and passion which are key themes in romance.

Tool 4
Utilising the vibrancy tool in photoshop for my magazine front cover allows for appealing and satisfying visuals for my front cover. This tool allows me to adapt and change how my image is presented. The image allows me to change the colour from the original colour to a burnt orange, the burn orange fits in within my magazine as it has connotations of passion which conforms to the romance genre of my film magazine. This tool also allows you to change the vibrancy and the saturation of the image colour as well this means you can adapt the colour to fit your desired look to appeal to the genre of romance and the target audience.

Double paged Spread Tools

Tool 1 (colour overlay and outer glow)
Utilising the stroke tool within the text tool allowed me to enhance my double paged spread so it looked appealing and was at the highest quality and standards it could be. On my article headings and sub headings I used the colour overlay to change the font colour from black to red this allowed it to conform to my colour scheme and to the romance genre. Then I used an other glow this would allow my text to shine, attract and appeal to my target audience as the text isn't just plain and boring. The text tool not only allowed me to do this but also allowed me to my my main article text a bigger size so that it would be the feature of my double paged spread.

Tool 2
Utilising the magic lasso tool allowed me to make my magazine clean and smart so that its aesthetic and appealing for my target audience. The lasso tool helps you to cut out background from images so that you can use the only part that is needed. I used this to cut out images of hearts the hearts are now prettier as they look clean and sharp and blend in with the rest of my double paged spread. The tool allows the hearts to be pointed, round and angled. I cut out the heart from the white background to no background this allows it to fit into the background of my double paged spread seamlessly and therefore appeal to my target audience.

Tool 3
Utilising the rectangle tool in my double paged spread allowed my magazine to conform to the classic conventions of a magazine article but also make it look smart and presentable to appeal to my target audience. The rectangle tool allows my articles to be in columns which are conventions of magazines, this allows me to fit all my text into my double paged spread neatly. The neatness of my magazine allows it to appeal and attract my target audience as they know the magazine is of high quality.

  • Ideas for wider mass distribution for the magazine
Open to Interpretation:
  • Colour Scheme - I will be able to decide what colours I include in my magazine
My colour scheme will be predominately colours of red, pinksand burnt oranges. The colour pink has connotations of not only love which is a key theme in all romance films but also femininity which is perfect for my target audience as I aim to appeal to females. The colour Red is associated with the heart, which is the centre of love and emotion and that is why i feel that these colours will perfectly link to the genre.

  • Target audience I will be able to decide who I target my magazine towards

My primary target is 12-19 year old women who can directly relate and sympathise with the romance movies I will promote. This age group have more freedom and spare time to reader and participate in my magazine, this will result in my magazine having a loyal and attentive fanbase. Also at this age they will have a disposal income which will allow them to pay for the magazine and or subscription.

My secondary target audience is 20-35 year old women who will be able to reminisce their teenage years and be able to sympathise with the content included or women who are looking for an easy watch film. This audience are more likely to buy the magazine sporadically and not the subscription, also as they will have a disposable income they will be able to pay £4 each time.

My magazine will be targeted for all women so all ethnicities and races will be shown throughout to make all women feel welcome to read and be included. My magazine is targeted all working/middle class as its affordable especially if they buy the subscription.
  • what steaming platform I choose - I will be able to choose what streaming platform I promote within my magazine

I will be promoting a new film release called Starlit Promises made by North London studios in mill hill which is being streamed on L.O.Z stream studios. This romance film is new and upcoming and I will be including a review from the premier, discussing the trailer, actors and an exclusive Q&A about the makings of the film.

Alongside this I will also be promoting a new upcoming romance film called we live in time which will be streamed on (HBO) Max which is a very famous streaming service. I will include reviews on this film, discussing the trailer and actors.

The current streaming service I will be promoting has been recently regenerated, Max is new and streams in America, Caribbean and parts of Europe. This is ideal for my magazine as I will be able to work with and help re-expose their platform as well as this new independent streaming service. People in this country will be able to broaden their variety of streaming service, this will intrigue and excite my readers.

  • Barcodes/websites - I will be able to choose what and if I include websites and barcodes
